The objective of this role is to provide high quality education, development and care to the children in our School Readiness Program whilst building exceptional relationships and partnership experience with our families.
**Key Accountabilities**
**Children**
- Ensure child safety and welfare at all times by actively supervising and interacting with children
- Ensure that our children are educated and cared for to the highest standard
- Ensure every child is able to engage with educators in meaningful, open interactions that support the acquisition of skills for life and learning
- Interact with each child in a warm and responsive way and build trusting relationships
- Facilitate a nurturing and loving environment for the children at the centre
- Provide childcare services that comply with the national regulations, the National Quality Framework (NQF), and support the Early Years Learning Framework
- Provide ongoing input for all documentation associated with Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) requirements
- Ensure delivery and maintenance of routines and programs specific to the room including small groups
- Ensure the Islamic School Readiness curriculum is embedded in the culture of the centre
- Document the children’s learning through supporting and mentoring other team members
- Create and set up interesting learning environments for the children that are in line with our Curriculum
**People**
- Work as a team and ensure that you support and respect other team members.
**Room Leader Duties**
- Be a role model and ensure that you support, instruct and mentor other team members in your room on the expectations of our program and their role within the centre
- Ensure that all new team members feel welcome and are engaged in the room, creating an environment that fosters a sense of belonging
- Work with the classroom team to hold room meetings, set goals and meet requirements
- Be the point of contact for communications with families about developmental outcomes and school readiness in consultation with the Director
- Will facilitate the process of family information and progress meetings
- Actively participate in the leadership team by attending meetings, sharing ideas and being motivated towards the centre vision
- Support the Director with decisions made throughout the centre
- Support and encourage ongoing learning and study for all team members
**Families**
- Provide our families with exceptional customer service at all times
- Ensure that all families are communicated with in a warm and professional manner.
- Pay attention to greeting and farewelling the families each day, sharing information about their child’s day
- Form partnerships with families to reach the best possible outcomes for each child
**School**:
- Recognise, support and adhere to the values and Growth Academy Philosophy of the centre
- Participate in ensuring the centre is presented immaculately at all times, actively working to keep learning environments clean
- Attend all room team meetings and centre team meetings
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification from a recognised university
- Current First Aid Certificate, Asthma, Anaphylaxis Certificate
- Working with Children’s Check
- Minimum of three years demonstrated experience in an early childhood setting.
- Advocate for Early Childhood Education
- Experience supporting and training colleagues
- Knowledge of statutory regulations relating to the industry
- Desirable
- Prior experience as a Service Supervisor
- Knowledge of basic Islamic principles and teachings.
