The establishment of Cladding Safety Victoria (CSV) by the Victorian Government is a world-leading initiative. The $600 million program aims to make Victorians safer by reducing the risk associated with combustible cladding on residential apartment buildings and publicly owned buildings. The Building Surveyor is a vital role that will support Cladding Safety Victoria (CSV) in the delivery and evaluation of the CSV combustible cladding rectification program. The role utilises advanced technical knowledge and experience in public and private building industry administration to support technical assessments and inform policy and procedural development, and the interpretation of the National Construction Code in the Victorian context.

**Job purpose**:
The Building Surveyor is a vital role that will support Cladding Safety Victoria (CSV) in the delivery and evaluation of the CSV combustible cladding rectification program. The role utilises advanced technical knowledge and experience in public and private building industry administration to support technical assessments and inform policy and procedural development, and the interpretation of the National Construction Code in the Victorian context. It requires strong project management skills and a record of achievement in detailed technical advice, and ability to digest, record, analyse and interpret large volumes of data and present in a readily accessible way.

**Responsibilities**
- Support the Principal Building Surveyor in the provision of technical advisory and guidance services to Executive Director Program Delivery, CEO and other relevant team members and relevant government departments, drawing on experience in administration of the Building Act, Building Regulations, National Construction Code and Australian Standards.
- Support technical quality assurance reviews of government and residential building surveying practices.
- As an integral member of the Technical Services team, contribute to the implementation of continuous policy and procedure improvement to drive the Division's efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of relevant legislation, including the development and implementation of proactive strategies and establishing new operational procedures where required.
- Enhance CSV's profile with its stakeholder groups including industry participants and building consumers in Victoria through strong customer responsiveness, service delivery and expert technical knowledge, including but not limited to participating in knowledge sharing across internal and external forums and briefing of legal counsel on technical matters.
