**The role**:
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced **Animal Program Manager** to join our Veterinary Services on a full time basis. This is a newly created role within our business and represents an opportunity to facilitate the growth of our existing Behaviour program and other exciting community outreach initiatives.

**Your responsibilities will be**:

- Reviewing the strategy and direction of the LDH Behaviour function to improve adoption outcomes for dogs in our care.
- Developing and executing a plan to grow and improve LDH’s public facing behaviour program.
- Leading a team of experienced Behaviour Trainers, and Outreach program staff members.
- Overseeing the work of our Training Coordinator to ensure that all staff are trained in best practice animal management techniques and practices.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with LDH’s current partners and exploring new partnership opportunities.
- Encouraging the development of new ideas, processes, services and technologies that will improve LDH’s brand, image and customer value offering.
- Overseeing and managing the operations of LDH’s community outreach programs, including the Mobile Desexing initiative.

**You will have**:

- Relevant qualification in dog training and canine behaviour or working towards a relevant qualification.
- Significant experience in an animal welfare or veterinary related role.
- Confidence with handling dogs of varying temperaments.
- Exceptional communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- A commitment to positive reinforcement-based training methods.
- Passion for animal behaviour and welfare.
- Willingness to work as part of a wider team and also autonomously.
- High degree of emotional maturity.
