Applications for Korea-related Masters projects include, but are not limited to, **pre-modern or modern history, rebellion in Korea, literature, cinema, popular culture and media studies, cultural studies, socio-linguistics and pragmatics, second language acquisition, sociology of media, overseas Koreans, religion, ethnicity and sociology**. These areas reflect the research expertise of Monash University Korean Studies staff. It is important that you think clearly about a member of the Monash University Korean Studies staff who will be able to supervise you.

The successful applicant will have an excellent academic track record and an excellent command of both English and Korean. The successful applicant must have a strong research proposal that is feasible under the Master of Arts (Research Training) timeframe, and which aligns with the expertise of Monash University Korean Studies staff.

In its assessment, the selection committee will prioritize applicants who hold an Australian (or equivalent international) Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and with first-class honours/H1 awarded (or equivalent).

Scholarship holders must be enrolled full-time and on campus. Domestic applicants will be prioritised.

The successful applicant will be expected to enrol by **February 2024**. However, there may be some flexibility as to the date of commencement.

**Submit an Expression of Interest**

EOIs shall comprise:

- A cover letter that includes a brief statement of the applicant’s suitability
- A brief research proposal not exceeding 750 words in length that outlines clearly the proposed research topic, why it is worth studying, how they will answer the questions, and a suitable Monash Korean Studies supervisor
- A curriculum vitae, including a list of any conference presentations and relevant work experience
- A full statement of academic record, supported by scanned copies of relevant certified documentation
- English language proficiency test results (if applicable)
- Contact details of two academic referees
- Copy of your current passport (if available)
