**Academic B, $101,598 - $120,647 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. This is a full time (36.75 hours per week) teaching and research position that is an ongoing appointment.**

**About the Role**

The overall purpose of the position of Lecturer in Public Health is to make significant contributions to the teaching effort in the areas of public health and health science and to contribute to the College through academic relevant administrative and research activities. An academic at this level is also expected to play a role in scholarship, professional and research activities.

The position of Lecturer will design and teach units, including online and preparatory material as well as convene units of study. The position of Lecturer will be required to teach into the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University and potentially supervise Honours and higher degree students and support student professional projects.

You will contribute to the strength of the discipline of Public Health within the University by collaborating with public health and health science staff across the First Year College and in the College of Sport, Health and Engineering in both teaching and research activities.

**Duties**

Duties will include:

- Working with Public Health and relevant other staff to develop high quality materials to teach and convene units in the postgraduate and undergraduate Public Health discipline;
- Participating in administrative duties and academic leadership such as course or unit convenor, attending discipline and college meetings and/or membership of committees.
- Independently preparing and delivering curriculum content, including unit coordination, marking, assessment and consultation with students.
- Developing and enhancing industry partnerships including developing relationships, and establishing and supporting student professional projects.
- Independently, and in collaboration with other relevant staff, conduct and disseminate research in areas of expertise in accordance with the MORA (Measure of Research Activity) expectations for the level of appointment.
