We require the immediate start of a QA Advisor/Welding Supervisor to join our team in Geelong VIC on a permanent full time basis.

**About the Role**:
The position will see you responsible for the supervision of all welding and quality control activities.

**Your key responsibilities will be**:

- Ensure that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that Company procedures are followed.
- Monitor and ensure compliance of the Quality Plan.
- Ensure that the standard of workmanship is compliant with the specifications and that specified inspections and tests are conducted and records maintained to substantiate conformance.
- Complete welding related work packs, inspections and welding traceability in a timely manner
- Document welding traceability and visual inspections.
- Ensure correct consumables and welding equipment are available for completion of all welding work.
- Liaise with the client (internal or external) on the fabrication aspects of the project.
- Support cost reduction efforts for assembly/weld processes.
- Support investigation of material related queries and investigation of other weld related queries.
- Test new Welders to ensure they are qualified under Company and Client standards to carry out work, keep accurate records of qualifications of Welders.
- Qualify new welding procedures if required by the client.
- Coordinate NDT and PWHT requirements on site.
- Compile work packs when required.
- Check and approve Maintenance, Projects and Turnaround workpacks before job execution.
- Field quality check all work performed on Projects and Turnarounds for compliance to client GRAP standards and specifications.
- Field quality check maintenance work as required.
- Issue NCR’s and complete the process through to closeout.
- Develop ITP’s and manage inspection and test tasks through to final completion.
- Liaise with Supervisors to provide technical assistance when required.
- Support Superintendents to ensure site has sufficient Welders by making recommendations and selection of new Welders.
- Ensure continuous improvement projects are implemented on time.
- Complete U Walks on a weekly basis.
- Provide training in welding as required.

**Requierd Education/Qualifications**:

- Relevant Trade Certificate
- AS1796 Certificate 10
- AS2214 Certification of Welding Supervisors

**Desirable Skills/Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years experience in a Supervisory role within the fabrication industry.
- Sound knowledge of safety, quality (including AS9001 system knowledge) and fabrication procedures and requirements.
- Strong commitment to developing and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise, plan, organise and complete work within established deadlines
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels in an informative and positive manner
- Strong client focus and a genuine desire to assist team members
- Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
- Commitment to continuous improvement
