**The Opportunity**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Vehicle Logistics Officer to join our hard-working team based in Kilburn, 5084.
As the Vehicle Logistics Officer, you’ll play a critical role responsible for scheduling services that are operationally efficient, maintain our service standards and meet our customers needs. Provide continued support and advice for all driving staff.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the VLO will assist in scheduling, routing and generation of driver runs and will liaise with customers and drivers to provide assistance where required and strategically plan to increase productivity and exceed client expectations.

**What you'll be responsible for**:
- Schedule routes that maintain a consistent and even distribution of work, whilst meeting service expectations and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Reviewing and/or actioning the Route Assignment for future planning.
- Monitor the days routes to ensure services are being completed and assist drivers where required.
- Dispatch jobs daily, print run sheets and perform daily driver debriefs.
- Complete customer specific paperwork for services.
- Monitor route productivity and profitability on a daily basis.
- Report and provide assistance in managing route profitability improvement.
- Monitor overall cost centre profitability (Bulk, Front Lift, Rear Lift, Liquid etc.) in relation to route performance and scheduling.
- Manage driver breaks and schedule working days in accordance with National Heavy fatigue and Chain of Responsibility on a daily basis.
- Manage and approve driver leave ensuring that service levels are still able to be maintained and drivers are able to take adequate breaks.
**What you'll need to be successful**:
- Experience in a similar role or previous experience in scheduling.
- Previous experience in route optimisation / profitability.
- Previous experience in the waste or transport industry.
- Working knowledge of SAP (preferred).
- Solid understanding of the National Heavy fatigue laws.
- Strong knowledge of the chain of responsibility.
- Sound analytic skills and ability to read reports.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced computer skills.
- A strong focus on health and safety.
