**Role**:
Ability to undertake a range of maintenance and gardening duties appropriate to a school environment including some trade experience relevant to the role.

Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including staff, students and trades people

Ability to use initiative to investigate, prioritise, take appropriate action and address maintenance and gardening problems under the direction of leadership

Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as a member of the college ES team, to follow instructions and to take on responsibility to work independently without direct supervision on assigned tasks

Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of Occupational Health and Safety and college guidelines and a commitment to work in a safe manner

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the use and maintenance of equipment within a work area.
- Ensure security is maintained within a work area.
- Manage procedures relating to the maintenance of specialist collections, e.g. library resource material and collections.
- Evaluate and select equipment and materials and make recommendations to senior management.
- Develop procedures relating to the use and maintenance of equipment and materials.
- Coordinate the purchase of equipment and materials.
