Purple Blossom Care is a boutique provider. We believe in choice, family, communication, commitment and compassion. We are a fun, family-oriented, provider who will provide you with a shadow shift for each client and ongoing support. We provide In-Home and Community Access. Please note: we are not a facility and shifts range from 2-10 hours depending on the client.
We are looking for Support Workers to join our team. Are you dependable, passionate, dedicated and able to take initiative and above all desire to make a difference and build a rapport with clients and their families?
While there are a variety of opportunities within our organisation, we are looking for the following:
Boronia: Looking for a Male in his 40s to support a visual impaired woman for community access. Wed 10-2 and Fri 10-3 and 1st Monday of the month
Mentone: Support Worker for Community Access 3 hours a day (7 days a week) for a beautiful gentlemen who loves coffee, planes and the library.
Burwood: Support Worker for Community Access for a female who loves animals, music and the beach. *Do you have experience with Huntington's Disease
Bentleigh: Support Worker for Community Access for a 53 year-old male wit Autism
Cheltenham: Support worker who has experience Lewy Bodies Dementia to feed and spend time with a client in a facility.
Baxter: Support worker for a 3 year-old with Mowat Wilson's Syndrome. Tues 7-10 am (more shifts available for the right person)
We believe in building relationships and you can only do that if you have the same client on a weekly basis, therefore shifts do not change week to week.
We are not looking for subcontractors, but rather people to join our team. Also, if you are an independent support worker, feel free to apply, and if successful you will be employed by PBC.
We are also currently for staff in the following areas, but first and foremost a good match must be present between both staff members and clients prior to placement.
Our Director of Care places successful employees with clients who she feels are a match.
General Responsibilities
- Provide high quality, professional and unique personalised support, which is stimulated in the client’s individual, support plan and package.
- Provide, respectful relationships and develop professional relationships with other workers and customers.
- Provide safe, non-threatening, comfortable environments and positive social and emotional support systems.
- Provide assistance all manual handling, lifting, bending, physical transfer of customers and stretching, positive behaviour support, and monitoring as required by individual clients.
- Personal Care Provide assistance with toileting, showering, meal assistance, grooming, dressing, household chores and other tasks as required.
- Daily Support Assisting in daily planning, communication and transport as required by the client.
- Read and update communication books and client files as required and ensure relevant documentation is available and maintained.
- Complete all administrative tasks required to ensure compliance with the procedures.
- Record attendance and complete timesheets
- Attends and participate in meetings, reviews required.
- Uphold the policies and procedures of Purple Blossom Care and uphold the Vision, Mission, Philosophy and Values of Purple Blossom Care.

- Provide a non-threatening approach to behaviour management programs and ongoing support in a non-threatening way.
- Finds opportunities to address and improve the quality of the service and the program for the client.
- Raises ethical issues with due diligence to the Director of Care
PERSON SPECIFICATION
**Qualifications**:
- Certificate III in Community Service, Aged Care, Home Care or Individual Support and/or equivalent or greater
- Certificate IV in Disability, Youth, Community Services or Mental Health

Pay: $30.00 - $78.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
