Our client is Australia's most successful machine tool maker, and a global tier 1 supplier of computer numerical control (CNC) tools and cutter grinders to meet large-scale manufacturing and entry-level production requirements. **YOUR ROLE**

Support the Production, Maintenance and Business Units, in daily maintenance activities required to keep the plant operating efficiently and support the improvement activities within the Maintenance and Production Departments

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support the Preventative maintenance plan as directed, carrying out maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment
- Create/ improve Preventative maintenance plans
- Intervening immediately in the event of breakdowns, failures or malfunctions
- Support improvement activities as directed
- Support The maintenance & Facilities Manager on daily activities as directed
- Preparation of maintenance resource planning schedule
- Ensuring that machinery and equipment are kept in good working order
- Ensuring that machinery and equipment meets safety regulations
- Repairing and replacing broken or defective components
- Checking repaired components and machinery to ensure normal functionality has been restored
- Conduct or Support the Maintenance / Manufacturing Department in root cause - problem-solving activities
- Spare part management
- Documenting maintenance activities

**COMPETENCIES**:

- Trade qualified, Fitter machinist
- Knowledge of how mechanical systems and equipment work
- Ability to fault-find CNC machines and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schemes
- Manual skills necessary to carry out maintenance operations (use of hand tools, i.e., angle grinders, pistol drills etc.)
- Restricted Electrical Licence preferable
- Excellent communications with stakeholders on work required
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to carry out root cause analysis
- Ability to develop internal procedures
- Ability to work with Machine Shop staff and Management
- Ability to intervene promptly and efficiently, where required

**REQUIREMENTS**

**_ To excel in this role, you should have: _**
- At least 4 years' experience in a similar role preferably related to Maintenance / Mechanical Fitter.
- Trade Qualification or equivalent
- Proven experience in Maintenance/Mechanical Fitting
- High level of mechanical aptitude with CNC machines
- Ability to fault-find CNC machines and equipment
- Ability to develop Preventative Maintenance plans
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
