1st Year Apprentice Carpenter

**Your new role**:
Your carpentry apprenticeship at Ausco will combine on-the-job training with classroom learning to teach the skills necessary for carpentry, such as reading blueprints, cutting materials, building structures, and making repairs. The training is full-time and delivered over 3-4 years on the worksite, with assessments to measure knowledge and problem-solving skills.
**Tasks would include**:

- Reading blueprints
- Choosing and ordering timber and other materials
- Measuring, cutting and assembling materials together
- Nailing panels together
- Fitting exterior wall claddings and window frames
- Inspecting damaged structures
- Making repairs and alterations
- general Labouring

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Be motivated to work unsupervised
- Have a passion to learn about carpentry
- Be able to motivate and listen to your mentor & Supervisor
- Be reliable and company focused
- Show an unwavering focus on Safety
- An ability to work independently and also part of a team
- Be able to communicate well with other team members and clients.
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Ideally provide your own transportation to and from site
