The **Safety Auditor **acts as a principle advisor for safety assurance related matters within the operation and is responsible for conducting safety audits, safety investigations and the development and management of the Jetstar assurance program. This includes planning, coordinating and conducting safety systems assurance activities against Civil Aviation legislation, international standards and Jetstar business requirements. Alongside this, you will prepare and report on these assurance activities to ensure that Jetstar has an effective Safety Management System in place.

**The core responsibilities of this role are;**
- Conduct Safety Audits and Investigations in accordance with legislative obligations, international standards and Jetstar business requirements
- Champion the development, delivery, and management of Jetstar safety assurance activities
- Plan, coordinate, conduct, monitor and report on safety assurance activities
- Communicate Jetstar safety assurance requirements and expectations
- Capture safety assurance activities through use of the safety data management system
- Communicating with appropriate managers on safety assurance findings, negotiating and monitoring action completion by due dates
- Promote workplace safety and participative management practices
- Provide Manager Safety Assurance Programs with recommended solutions to identified safety opportunities and deficiencies

**To be considered for this role, you will have**:

- Qualifications as an Auditor/Lead Auditor in Quality/Safety Management Systems
- Previous experience as a systems or safety auditor, preferably in aviation or a related industry
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to educate, lead and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and practices
- Proven record in initiative, determination and achievement
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Qualifications or professional membership as an Investigator /preferably in a high risk or transport related industry is preferred but not essential
