**_An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified person to join our Tourism and Events Team on a part time (0.8FTE), short term contract._**

The Tourism and Events Officer will assist in the operations of Council owned tourism assets including promotion and marketing with some volunteer management along with a supporting role in the planning, development, implementation and review of elements of the Major Events Program. This includes implementation, monitoring and review of Council’s corporate reporting framework, strategic planning processes, project management, service reviews, grants management, work health & safety and risk management.

The successful applicant will have experience working within the tourism and events industry and will demonstrate high level skills in communication, customer service, time management, problem solving along with the ability to work as part of a team. Experience in administrative practices and use of Microsoft Office packages, together with commitment and an excellent work ethic will assist the applicant to meet the main objectives of the position.

The position is offered as a 0.8 FTE in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $77,151 to $83,311 (full time equivalent) dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
