**The Opportunity**:We are currently seeking a Leading Hand to manage the operation and administration of the workshop by leading and contributing to a professional team environment by ensuring high levels of safety, quality, efficiency, and customer support.
**Key Accountabilities Include**:
- Direct workshop personnel in the day to day duties of their positions
- Have direct contact with department customer base to ensure customer satisfaction
- Supervise and authorise all workshop quotations
- Direct personnel in the maintenance of the equipment and ensure compliance with Government bodies
- Supervise the requirements of other internal departments for service department labour
- Review reports involving departmental performance and profitability and advise Service and Parts Manager
- Manage the compilation and processing of new equipment warranty claims
- Ensure that weekly production meetings are held with the relevant personnel
- Supervise all conditions that relate to HSE of employees
- Ensure environmental legislation and requirements are adhered to
- Authorise all major expenditure on hire fleet units returned to the workshop
- Identify and maintain a separate crew of technicians for hire fleet maintenance

**The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we're Looking For**:
- Possess mechanical trade qualification or relevant experience
- Proficient computer skills
- Possess product industry and knowledge
- Understand industry servicing standards
- Ability to prepare maintenance quotations and projections
- Understand the organisation and structure of the service department
- Understand the organsisation and structure of the spare parts department
- Understanding of statistical data and its effect on profitability
- Ability to recognise commercial opportunities
- Understanding of departmental budgets
