**Veterinary Technician**

Catalina Stud Pty Ltd located in Hawkesbury NSW is currently seeking a highly experienced staff member to join our team on a full-time basis.

**About the Role - Veterinary Nurse/Technician**

The primary duty is to assist the Head Veterinarian in daily procedures and management of horses including:

- Undertake OPU (Ovum Pick Up) procedures.
- Assist Veterinarian with embryo flush and transfer of embryo and stallion collection activities as well as management of recipient herd.
- Management of staff whose primary activity is located at the Foaling Barn.
- In patient nursing including:

- Perform clinical examinations and administer medications as per treatment plan.
- Maintain intravenous fluids and infusions, where required.
- Ensure feeding plans are adhered.
- Ensure breeding plans and treatment sheets are correctly completed.
- Monitor in-patient procedures e.g. bandage changes, joint injections, IV catheter placement and restraint, setting up and shutting down equipment, inputting patient data, data transfer of images.
- Maintain good biosecurity as per biosecurity plan.

**The salary will be above award - in the range of $80,000 to above $100,000 per annum depending upon the level of skill.**

**Essential Skills**:

- A relevant qualification of at least a Certificate IV is essential for this role. All applicants must have a minimum of 2-years full time professional experience in the role.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
