Automotive Apprenticeship

**About the MTA**
The MTA is South Australia’s only dedicated automotive industry training provider, delivering apprentices with the skills, training and industry access to best prepare them for a career as a motor mechanic, diesel mechanic, panel beater, vehicle painter, among other automotive apprentices.

**Roles available**
Apprenticeships are available now with our partner businesses in the following areas:

- Light Vehicle Mechanical Technician (Motor Mechanic)
- Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technician (Diesel Mechanic)
- Automotive Parts Interpreter (Automotive Sales)
- Automotive Refinishing Technician (Vehicle Painter)
- Vehicle Body Repair Technician (Panel Beater)

We also offer apprenticeships in marine, mobile plant, motorcycle and agricultural.

**Key selection criteria**

Essential:

- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Have successfully completed Year 10 or higher
- Hold a Provisional Driver’s Licence or above
- Have an interest in the automotive industry
- Experience working with hand/power tools
- Mechanical aptitude

Desirable:

- Completion of a Certificate I or II in Automotive
- Work experience in the automotive industry
