We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Applied Technology team, within our Operations Division on a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract as a Laboratory Specialist.

This role responsible for conducting reference testing on grain commodities and other agricultural testing services while complying with ISO and NATA requirements.

**Reporting to the Manager - Laboratory, the key deliverables for the role are**:
- Facilitating and participating in day-to-day analysis to produce reliable results and meet agreed targets;- Providing technical support to growers, shareholders, collaborators, clients and operational staff on analytical assessments and related grain sampling enquiries;- Providing accurate testing services to shareholders and clients, honouring timeframes, and communicating unforeseen changes in deadlines whilst maintaining integrity;- Undertaking routine and non-routine analysis on grain samples utilising standardised reference techniques, including physical analysis, Mass Spectrometry, and qPCR analysis;- Preparing internal and external customer reports;- Entering analysis results into to IBIS, Excel and LIMs;- Adhering to appropriate quality measures and standards set by ISO 17025 and company requirements relevant to duties; and- Ensuring all instruments are adequately maintained, serviced, calibrated, and validated to minimise downtime, and establish limits of tolerance and maintain acceptable levels of uncertainty.

**What you will bring to the role**:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceuticals, Chemistry or Life Science;- MS Office skills, including advanced skills in Excel;- Excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with non-technical and technical colleagues;- Efficient problem solving and scientific data interpretation skills; and- Ability to set priorities, manage simultaneous tasks, and troubleshoot technical problems.
