As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing personalized care and assistance to individuals with disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Assist clients with community access and recreational activities and ensuring they have opportunities to develop and maintain a valued lifestyle.
- Assist clients with household activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
- Support clients with personal care activities such as toileting, showering, hygiene assistance, etc.
- Provide behavioural and mental support to our clients.
- Ability to support clients with a range of different services and appointments.
- Maintain up to date NDIS training modules and other administrative tasks as required.
- Must be available to work on rotating shifts and flexibility to pick up additional shifts as required.
- Providing emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Supporting clients in accessing community resources, recreational activities, and medical appointments.
- Implementing care plans developed by healthcare professionals and monitoring clients' progress.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
**Required**:
**Disability Support Workers MUST have the following**
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or relative field
- Current DHS Working with Children and DHS Disability Screening (or NDIS Worker Screening)
- NDIS worker screening check
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Valid Unrestricted Drivers License
- COVID Vaccination Certificates
- 1-2 Years experience working with people with disability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to adapt to various care needs and work independently or as part of a team.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
