**About the role**:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Registered Nurses for the ICU Nurse Educator position in the Intensive Care Service. This position will report directly to the Nurse Manager Intensive Care in cooperation with Nurse Manager of Nurse Education Department with the main focus of the role being the coordination, clinical development, supervision and assessment of the Postgraduate Intensive Care Nursing Course and the Course Students, and the planning and implementation of study days and lecture presentations. The position is classified as Nurse Educator Grade 2.

The successful applicant will be expected to employ a high level of Critical Care clinical knowledge and judgement to ensure superior delivery of holistic care, and demonstrate leadership in the administration of this specialty course. The Nursing Educator will consult and communicate with the ICU Nurse Manager, Australian Catholic University and key stakeholders within the Hospital to support attainment of goals and management of deadlines.

In addition, assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of the education programs to meet the needs of staff working within the clinical environment in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Educators, Nursing Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Stream Managers and the Nurse Manager for Education. The role will ensure evidence based practice principles have been utilised in the development of curriculum, programs, policies and procedures within the specialist clinical environment. The preferred applicant will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing Professional Development, ideally with a focus on nursing education. It is also anticipated they will have experience in clinical nursing education, have well developed communication and interpersonal skills, have a motivation to share knowledge with others and able to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries
2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency
3. Relevant post-graduate education qualifications or** **relevant post-graduate clinical qualifications with a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards), or** **willingness to work towards in first 12 months.
4. Comprehensive and expert Critical Care Knowledge/Experience (preferably including ECMO)
5. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate education programs using innovative educational strategies, tools and approaches and preferably experience with University Curriculum, assessments and marking.
6. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills
8. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a nurse educator.
