HR Business Partner

**ABOUT US**:
Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is a Queensland Statutory Authority established to regulate the building industry and ensure maintenance of proper building standards and remedies for defective building work.
QBCC also serves to educate, protect and support the community and the Industry via licensing and registers, education, dispute resolution and adjudication, enforcing compliance and managing the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme.
Primary purpose of the position
You will work with the HR Leadership Team to position the HR Business Partner role as a valued strategic contributor to QBCC management teams by consistently providing high level, expert strategic, tactical and operational HR advice, support and coaching that delivers clear business benefits and outcomes.
By positively influencing and guiding the development and delivery of plans integrating business group goals and HR strategies, you will seek to build the capability of our leaders as effective people managers.
You will be expected to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment to provide high quality outcomes for Human Resources, employees and stakeholders across the division.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients
- Work closely with the broader HR division to identify, plan and implement HR solutions that meet client priorities and align with organisational HR strategies, company vision and values
- Providing guidance, coaching, training and advice to employees and managers on HR related matters including:

- workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations and performance management issues, workplace health and safety, governance, and legislation
- Participating in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, HR metrics, initiatives, and programs
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as government policies
- Managing employee data and maintaining accurate HR records
- Supporting employee growth and development
- Managing employee relations and performance management issues
- Develop, implement, and monitor equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity plans and programs
- Experience in an HRBP role or similar role in Government sector advantageous
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Possess personal characteristics of flexibility, resilience, and the ability to manage ambiguity
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and laws
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically
- Strong knowledge of HR technology and tools
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
