Rye Park, Australia Drover Ag Recruitment Full time

Mixed farming enterprise
- Opportunity for progression
- Impressive infrastructure developments

**The Role**
Our clients are proud to present an exciting opportunity for an Overseer who has interests in livestock and cropping on one of their properties at Boorowa, NSW. A diverse and at times autonomous role that will see you involved in all tasks on the property which is utilised for prime lamb production, an Angus breeding and trading program and cereal cropping, so no two days will be the same.

Working directly with an owner-manager based on a property close by, you will need strong communication skills, be proactive and take meticulous care and pride in all that you do and utilise. An impressive infrastructure program is being undertaken and has already completed 5 sets of new Proway yards fitted with bulk handlers, auto drafters and a Te Pari sheep handler. Similarly, there is an impressive fleet of John Deere machinery fitted with Greenstar GPS which has been purchased over the last 3-4 years with additional tractors ordered and a new silo complex has been completed.

Previous experience with livestock and cropping will be a requirement for this role as all associated tasks are conducted in-house, along with being involved in farm infrastructure and machinery improvement, maintenance and repair. All mustering is completed in either SBS or ag bikes with the assistance of working dogs. Although it is not essential, it is favourable for applicants to have their own team of trained working dogs. Due to facilities and management practices, there is no opportunity for horses to be accommodated on the property.

**The Employer**:
Your potential employer is a family-owned business operating across 4 properties totalling 12,000 acres all in the Southern Tablelands of NSW. They are currently carrying 10,000 cross-bred ewes utilised for prime lamb production. 1,400 Angus cows form a breeding program, whose steers along with approximately 500 annually purchased trade steers are grown out for feedlot markets. Cropping operations consist of 700ha of wheat, canola and oats.

**The Offer**
A salary will be negotiated to meet your skill level along with an impressive home and work vehicle. The employer may also assist applicants with gaining their HR licence and Chemcert if not already held.

Conveniently located at Rye Park and within 15 minutes of Boorowa you will have easy access to all required amenities and schooling options. Both towns offer a vibrant country charm and the area is known for its fine Merino wool and beef-producing capabilities.
