**About the service**:
Sterilising Services at John Hunter Hospital is located on Level 1 and provides reprocessing services to John Hunter, Belmont and Calvary Mater Hospitals. The Service Operates 24/7 Monday to Friday and on Weekends and Public Holidays the Department is open 7:00am to 23:00pm. At John Hunter, the Reprocessed of Medical and Surgical Equipment is provided to 15 Operating Suite and numerous clinic, wards, department and external customers and provides leave relief to the Theatre Endoscopy Reprocessing Department. CSD Staff are deployed from John Hunter Hospital to Calvary Mater and Belmont Hospital.

**About the role**:

- Initially you will be trained to relieve the Theatre Endoscopy Sterilising Technician and you will be reprocessing all types of medical and surgical equipment for surgical specialities which include Orthopaedic, Trauma and Neuro, in accordance with Statutory Requirements and CSD Policy and Procedures.
- Sterilising Services have a Quality Education Co-ordinator who co-ordinates Orientation, on the job training programme and Endoscopy training.
- You will have a Sterilising Certificate, Endoscopy Reprocessing experience and credentials, and GENCA Certification.
- You will be confident working in either the Theatre Unit or Sterilising Department and have advanced communication skills which will be highly regarded.
