**Position: Accounts Payable Officer - Temporary Contract**

**Contract Length**: ASAP Start until March 2024

**Location**: Local Council Eastern Suburbs Melbourne

**Salary**: $40 per hour + super

**Job Requirements**:
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Processing creditor payments through the Council’s financial management system in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures, and in line with specified payment terms.
- Reconciling proposed payment reports and obtaining authorization before cheque production.
- Ensuring that requests for cheques are duly authorized and supported by the necessary invoices and documentation.
- Completing all reconciliations associated with the Accounts Payable function, including prescribed Payment Tax payments, Creditor statements when required, and proposed payment reports.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience with Oracle Cloud Fusion is highly preferred, or similar experience in government, not-for-profit, or education sectors.
- Relevant tertiary education in a related field, preferably in Accounting.
