The QHSE Audit Specialist will undertake Quality, Health, Safety & Environment risk-based audits, and inspections to support the compliance and enhancement of our Quality, HSE management systems and process efficiencies. Provide data for bench-marking purposes to support continual improvements and to provide suggestions for business process improvements.
Support the business to increase Quality, Safety and Risk culture and reduce high risk incidents whilst maintaining high operational performance which aligns to business strategies and reduces waste.
Success will require the incumbent to collaboratively work with numerous stakeholders across multiple business units, to investigate and drive effective Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Risk solutions to reduce overall risk and safety incidents, maintain compliance to standards, minimise waste and increase operational efficiencies. All programs of work and initiatives aligned to this role, must deliver on the desired Quality, HSE, Risk, Customer Service and Operational outcomes for the business.
As a QHSE Audit Specialist, you will focus on the Key and Critical risks that have significant impact on the businesses objectives by supporting, developing, and implementing initiatives that reduce risk factors through meaningful inspection, audits, utilisation of empirical data sets and root cause analysis, risk assessments, causal factors, and historical trends.
Raise HSE, Quality and Risk awareness through engagement with business influencers and intrinsic motivators. Embed and operationalise improvements to these management systems in everyday activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute on the Quality and Safety, Security, Wellbeing (SSW) Assurance Plans conducting Inspections and Internal Process Audits based on Risk and Key Performance Areas.
- Conduct field quality assurance activities for our Field Services groups.
- Conduct field HSE assurance activities for our Field Services groups.
- Perform Internal process audits identifying and reporting any improvement opportunities and governing the actions to completion with the respective action owners.
- Work collaboratively with the Field Services Leadership team and cross business stakeholders to support, maintain compliance, and continually improve the HSE and Quality Management Systems.
- Support contractor quality and HSE related compliance.
- Assist with monitoring, testing, and reporting on control effectiveness across Field Services.
- Provide value-adding outcomes and continuous improvement for our business through audits and inspections.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to ensure appropriate resolution of all audit outcomes.
- Analyse, evaluate, and report results and data arising from audit and inspection activity to identify opportunities for improvement and risks.
- Thorough understanding of current risk in health, safety and quality procedures, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the timely availability of data for entry into company databases and the extraction of reports indicating current levels of compliance.
- HSE Responsibility: Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with, and implement any reasonable Telstra HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support Telstra to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation.
We're looking for someone who.
- Can read network and infrastructure drawings and design packs submitted as part of the works complete and/or Ticket of Work Artefacts related to Field Services activities.
- Understands Quality, Health, Safety and Environment risk management
- Understands and has experience in Risk Management Frameworks and Risk Based Auditing
- Is trained in Auditing Management Systems e.g. ISO19011
- Has an active and current driver’s licence
- Has effective communication skills
- Is able to manage and influence stakeholders
