Do you take pride in your organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, and have a passion for working in publishing? We are currently seeking two driven and confident Journal Managers to join our dynamic ‘Journals’ group at CSIRO

In this multi-faceted role, you will bring your experience and skills to manage a portfolio of scholarly journals and editorial boards, implementing strategic priorities, and contributing to increasing the journal growth, quality, and reputation. The two Journal Managers will be each assigned with a different portfolio of journals, and therefore you will need the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously to manage the portfolios. You will efficiently collaborate with editorial boards and various internal teams, and manage operational aspects to deliver quality service and act as a trusted advisor. National and international travel will also be a key part of your role, so that you can keep up with changing trends and themes, and manage stakeholder relationships more efficiently. Critical thinking and problem solving skills would also be vital aspects of this position.

**Your duties will include**:

- Being the primary point of contact with editorial boards to share information, resolve issues promptly, and drive strategy, and taking responsibility for a high-functioning team.
- Contributing to the growth of the journals portfolio, in terms of its impact, content and revenue.
- Establishing networks with other professionals in the field, and working collaboratively with internal marketing teams and the Journal Publishers to make CSIRO content accessible, discoverable, and visible through a range of outreach activities.
- Managing finances and reporting requirements to assist in decision making processes.
- Providing a high level of service by delivering on Publishing Agreements.

**Location**: Clayton, VIC (preferred); Other CSIRO sites around Australia may be considered

**Salary**: AU$89K - AU$101K pa + up to 15.4% superannuation

**Tenure**: Specified Term of 2 years

**To be considered you will need**:

- A tertiary qualification in a relevant STEM field.
- Experience in building positive internal and external relationships and a commitment to excellent stakeholder service.
- Proven highly-developed and influential communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team environment, and contribute to collective outputs.
- Strong prioritization skills including the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects efficiently and concurrently.
- Proven ability to be highly organised, results orientated, and performance driven.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel nationally and internationally.

**Eligibility**:

- Australian or New Zealand Citizen;
- Australian Permanent Resident; or
