**Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH)**:
Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and is also a major provider of specialist services to people across Victoria. The health service operates three outstanding facilities, The Alfred, Caulfield, and Sandringham. Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

**Position**:
This exciting newly funded role requires knowledge and expertise in exercise physiology combined with an understanding of the complexities of adult mental health. This position will join a growing physical health team, which supports the adult mental health community teams to address the physical health needs of their clients.

AMAH is determined to improve the physical health outcomes of those with a serious mental illness and the exercise physiologists will be an integral part of this change. This position will embark on the challenge to build confidence and motivation amongst the staff to embrace physical activities as therapy for their clients.

The physical health needs of the client group will be met through both individual and group programs. These programs are to be designed with the goal of improved cardio and strength fitness leading to better health outcomes. Programs will involve assessment, implementation and outcome measures. Opportunities are available for research and evaluation of prescribed programs.

Service delivery will be supported by a multidisciplinary team; however, will also need a high degree of autonomy and flexibility. Programs implemented need to focus on a level of sustainability in the community taking into account affordability, access and enjoyment.

**Inclusion criteria**:
In order to be considered for this position you will need:

- Registration with Exercise & Sport Science Australian (ESSA) as an Accredited exercise Physiologist
- Relevant work experience
- Full Australian working rights
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and Influenza
- Current driver licence and be willing to undergo a background check
