Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the Category Buyer will provide leadership and direction in the Retail categories under management, including supply market commercial management and development, strategic long-term planning and execution, and contract and risk management activities to meet business needs across our client’s portfolio nationally. The Category Buyer will also drive category management execution on focused spend areas and execution of strategic commodity plans with a high focus on strategic sourcing, integrating supply strategies with our Clients Members business requirements and long-term strategies.

**The Person**:

- Relevant completed or partial tertiary qualification Economics/Business/Commerce, CIPS, IFPSM or AAPCM qualification or equivalent is highly regarded
- Negotiating - Advanced
- Drive for Results - Advanced
- Building Effective Teams - Intermediate
- Timely Decision Making - Intermediate
- Communication (Written/Presentation)
- Advanced
- Customer Focus - Advanced
- Planning - Advanced
- Supplier Relationship Management - Advanced
- 5 years+ procurement, strategic sourcing in a full end to end lifecycle management role
- A proven record of delivering value and cost reductions through strategic sourcing and category management within any spend category
- Change management experience in a complex multi divisional and / or project-based organisation
- Prior experience in building strong business relationships and working collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders
- Procurement experience across multiple industries or businesses
- First class analytical and communication skills
