Your Role

Due to growth, this exciting, newly created role has been created; this diverse yet supported opportunity will be responsible for overseeing the correlation of canola research data, managing trials and providing technical services and agronomy & phenology advice.

As the Research Technician, you will be integral in providing technical support, whilst working in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager, to establish product development plans as well as managing trials and collecting, analyzing, reporting on and making recommendations based on trial data.

Further to the above, your duties will include but not be limited to:
Assist with site selection, trial preparation, packing seed, planting, irrigation, weed and insect control, pollinating, hand harvesting and shelling

Work with data analysis software, collect and analyse trial data to inform product line decision-making

Provide technical and agronomic advice such as technical specifications, hybrid characteristics and agronomy advice

Organise contactors and supervise seasonal workers

Provide technical support at field days

Actively participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace

About You

Reporting to the Breeder, you will have been exposed to field-based research trials and experience operating farm machinery, such as planter, harvester, etc.

To be considered for the role, it is important that you can address the following:
Degree in Agriculture or equivalent experience

Current car licence (manual)

Strong computer literacy - MS Office, Data analysis software, etc.

Chemical user accreditation (desired)
