We’re looking for a **Assistant Controller**. The work location for this position is **Yatala**, **QLD **however, a **hybrid** work arrangement may be considered.

**The Opportunity**:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for producing timely and accurate financial results and analysis. Working closely with the Controller, APAC, finance staff, departmental managers and other company employees. This position will also spearhead new projects that drive efficiency and improve the quality of financial reporting.
- In this role you’ll:_
- Mentor and manage the workflow of the Financial Analysts in the team.
- Oversee efficient monthly close of global fixed asset process including leases, projects and fixed asset module in Oracle and troubleshooting issues with team. Review related reconciliations, working papers and post/ reclass journal entries.
- Assists in the financial review, control and integrity of all Australia/Asia operational and investment companies.
- Responsible for day to day accounting and judgements, liases directly with the APAC accounting team.
- Maintains a solid understanding of the business, its transactional and contractual obligations and becomes directly involved in specific business issues and their resolution.
- Providing insight and analysis of accounts as a part of the Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual close process.
- Assist with APAC financial results, ensuring they are reported accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with ASBE (Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises), IFRS, corporate and regulatory, tax and legal requirements.
- Coach and motivate direct reports and provide hands on support and growth opportunities to the team.
- Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.
- Here’s what you bring:_
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Professional accounting designation is required (CPA).
- Must have public company experience under IFRS or US GAAP. Multicurrency environment is a must. Public practice experience is a bonus
- Minimum 5 years of relevent work experience.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
