Moriac Primary School has an enrolment of approximately 230 students. We have a strong sense of community and the school is firmly entrenched with the Moriac Township and surrounding communities.

Moriac Primary School was established in 1922, built by the Moriac Progress Association on land donated by the Deppeler Family. This origin epitomizes the sense of community partnership that underpins the success of Moriac Primary School.

Wellbeing:
At Moriac Primary School we use School Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB) as an evidenced-based framework for preventing and responding to behaviours in school. This is a whole school approach to creating an environment which encourages effective learning through the development of a positive learning environment. We teach our students how to behave appropriately and uphold the school Core Values.

We recognise that learning socially acceptable behaviours is a process which everybody moves through at a different pace. Interventions and support have a common goal of maximising inclusion and building student capacity.

**Selection Criteria - Graduates**:

The primary focus of the range 1 classroom teacher is on further developing skills and competencies to become an effective classroom practitioner with structured support and guidance from teachers at higher levels and the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.

These teachers teach a range of students/classes and are accountable for the effective delivery of their programs. Range 1 classroom teachers are skilled teachers who operate under general direction within clear guidelines following established work practices and documented priorities and may have responsibility for the supervision and training of one or more student teachers.

At range 1, teachers participate in the development of school policies and programs and assist in the implementation of school priorities.

Teachers at range 1 are responsible for teaching their own classes and may also assist and participate in policy development, project teams and the organisation of co-curricula activ
