**An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join CRU’s **Base Metals Asset Services team.** This international team provides industry-leading operational and emissions data and analysis covering the world’s mines, smelters & refineries across the Copper, Nickel, Lead and Zinc commodities.**:
This role job involves:

- Collecting, analysing and forecasting production, costs and emissions data for base metals (Copper, Nickel, Lead, Zinc) mines.
- Creating in-depth analysis of the global competitiveness of mines; the current and future cost structure of the base metals industry; and the impact of decarbonisation on the industry.
- Engaging clients to promote CRU’s analysis and help shape the industry’s thinking about its future.

About You:

- A top degree from a top university or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Master’s degree with merit or above is not considered essential.
- Some understanding about the mining and metals industry, but a passion to learn and become a world-expert in the field.
- Experience working within the mining and metals industry with operation experience seen as highly advantageous.
- Well-honed ability to quickly grasp the key technical and financial aspects of base metals mining is expected.
- Strong quantitative background and a creative thinker.
- Ability to construct, deliver and defend a compelling sectoral narrative.
- **Analytical skills**:Gather and critically analyse “soft” and “hard” data; including quickly identifying key trends and drivers in order to generate perceptive conclusions and unique insight.
- **Performance driven**:Deliver against personal and team objectives, targets and deadlines.
- **Commercial awareness**:Understand the commercial drivers of the role, always seeking ways to maximise revenue/profit whilst generating the best value for clients.
- **Team working**:Balance the need to** **take personal initiative but also operate collaboratively as part of a group.
- **Mature character**:Gain the respect and trust of the clients through confident communication with market participants across all mediums.
