At Treehouse we are creating “innovative families”, a living arrangement between trained professionals and children/young people who have experienced trauma neglect or abuse. **The Opportunity**
The goal of the House Supervisor is to create a unique, family environment, which will allow the children to grow in a safe, loving and nurturing space. Reporting to the Residential Team Leader, you will help support the development of each young person, coordinate the daily running of the household and manage team members.
This is a MONDAY-FRIDAY role where core responsibilities include:
- Be actively present in the home environment, and provide role modeling, coaching, and mentoring for staff.
- Consistently engaging with the children/young people of the house on both an individual AND group level.
- Maintain and manage rosters and appropriate staffing levels.
- Manage, support and provide reflective supervision to a team of residential workers.
- Liaising with the young person's school and case management agencies.
- Facilitate training, monthly team meetings and month group/individual supervision
- Oversee the running of the house and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
- Conduct interviews in consultation with HR
- Monitor and manage team case notes
- Assume responsibility of the YP’s enrolments (co-curricular activities, etc.), appointments and general paperwork
- Manage the weekly house budget
- Rostering whilst taking into account contractual obligations
- Work with HR to ensure well being in the house is being upheld
- Work closely with management to support the smooth operations of Treehouse and ensure compliance with our obligations.
**Selection Criteria/Requirements**
- Valid NSW Paid Working with Children Check and National Police Check or being willing and eligible to obtain one prior to commencement
- Up to date First Aid or willing to obtain.
- Covid Vaccination Certificate
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Certification (Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work, etc.)
- Experience working with young people/children in a residential care or OOHC setting.
- Experience managing staff who regularly face crisis situations in the course of their work
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience to work within the relevant legislation, Out of Home Care Standards, policies, and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication and demonstrated administration skills and computer literacy
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with other services, and to receive feedback and guidance
- Willingness to work outside of business hours
- Availability for sleepovers.
