**Lab. Assistant / Graduate Chemist - Full Time**

**About the Company**

**About the role**:
Full-time position reporting to Technical Manager includes the following activities but is not exclusive.
- QC testing including recording results, data analysis, maintaining QC database and related report writing.
- Assisting in all R&D activities such as new product development, product modifications, testing products per AS and International standards, new raw material evaluations, etc
- Assisting in providing technical support to sales teams, addressing customer issues, writing reports addressing customer complaints, etc
- Sample preparations as and when required for various customers.
- Work mainly in lab environment assisting the Technical Manager but may be required to go to job site for testing, sampling etc.
- As part of product development activities, as and when required, support production processes, including raw material testing, etc.
- Maintain housekeeping in lab, conduct timely calibration of equipment, maintain equipment ensuring repair as and when required and maintain QC retain samples.
- Assist in procurement of new lab equipment and regular consumables.
- Maintain QC and R&D records in line with ISO 9001 requirements and support all QA activities as and when required.
- Maintain all relevant database as required for R&D and QC activities.
- Strictly adhere to the company Work Health & Safety Policies and Procedures including use of appropriate PPE and following relevant safe operating procedures for various equipment.
- You will be working with chemicals that must always be respected and handled/stored in accordance with their SDS including as and when required maintain SDS database.
- Maintain good working relationship with Production / Procurement team and coordinate to seek raw material TDS/SDS /CoA as and when required.
- Good work ethics including respect for confidentiality per Metz policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform occasional manual handling is required. Raw materials can be packed in 20kg bags/20L drums.

**What we expect from you**:

- Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident.
- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) with minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience or fresh graduates.
- Excellent demonstrated skills in documenting test results, data analysis, writing reports etc.
- Essential Chemical Laboratory testing experience, and excellent skills in MS Word and Excel.
- Team player skills with willingness to learn yet have ability to work autonomously.
- Sense of humour.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Graduate

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
