About you
As our Manager, RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, you’ll have experience working in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healthcare sector and/or a Membership based organisation. Your sound knowledge of contemporary management principles including the ability to manage staff, their activities, performance and review systems and procedures, along with experience in planning, budget and resource allocation and general administration, will ensure your teams success. To thrive in this role, you’ll also have:
a tertiary qualification and relevant experience or equivalent further education and relevant work experience.
experience in financial management and reporting, budget development, capacity to manage operational detail as well as high level strategy.
highly developed emotional intelligence and communication skills to represent RACGP effectively, negotiate and provide advice to senior executives, boards and committees in a variety of forms including group presentations and written reports.
the ability to work independently and accountably.

About the opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Member Experience Officer, you’ll lead the RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health team through managing their operational and strategic requirements, including business planning, resourcing, partnerships and budgets. You’ll provide leadership and direction to the RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Council. Education Committee and your team regarding key policy issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and GP training. In addition, you’ll:
establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with partner organisations, community representatives and key stakeholders.
oversee the development of key policy and position, coordination of responses to government, department and other stakeholder inquiries and calls for submissions in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
lead and develop the team to deliver innovative member solutions in response to business needs and maintaining a work environment that develops team members' potential and inspires high performance.
develop and manage budgets for the team and associated projects and grants, monitoring performance and taking corrective action as required.
