**Growing manufacturing business in Moolap is looking for a star worker to join our production team.**

Our small but growing family business is looking for a standout casual to help us manufacture acrylic splashbacks.

The work we do varies a lot. We rely on smaller to medium sized jobs and have good flow of projects coming through. However some weeks might be 5 days a week, others 1 or 2. Possible none if it’s really quiet, however this role allows us to get off the floor and into business growth activities.

The skills (in order of essential to preferred but not essential are)

1. Packing panels and cutting splashbacks on a panel saw along with general odd-jobs in the factory

2. Spray painting acrylic and glass

3. Programming and operating CNC

4. Operating digital printer

We have a permanent casual already, who does the first two roles, so roles 3 and 4 would be seen as highly favourable.

He is our primary employee for jobs, however at times we have more work than he can manage in his hours.

They will need to be responsible for their work day.

We’ll give you a list of what needs to be done and they will do it by following our work processes and our written work sheets.

And because it’s not a big team, they will have their hand in a bit of everything.

They will need to be able to work out problems for themselves, like for example how best to use the acrylic sheets to get the best use out of them.

Plus they will have the opportunity to leave their mark by looking for ways we can improve, and have a hand in making these changes.

What they need:

- They’ll need to be hands-on. This isn’t an office job. It’s a physical job working with product and tools.
- Enthusiasm. We expect them to bring your A-game, to work hard and to concentrate. It’s a small family business, not a large team.
- They will need to be strong. Not Olympic weightlifter strong, but strong enough to handle a reasonably heavy product without damaging it.
- Prepared to take responsibility for the task they’re working on. We want them to take pride in their work.
- To be able to work from 9am to 5pm. And to often do the last couple of hours on their own.
- Preferably a forklift license

What they don’t need:

- Whitecards, certificates or anything like this
- A certain age either. Any age will do as long as they can do the job and they’ve got everything we need
- They don’t need to be able to spraypaint, however it would be handy.
- Also as mentioned, experience with a CNC router would be extremely helpful. Or at least the computer skills to be able to learn how to program one

Here’s 5 reasons they should NOT apply.
- They’re not that good at maths. There’s a difference between cutting 1020mm and 1200mm. If they can’t set a panel saw to the right spot consistently every time and they make silly mistakes then this job isn’t for you. Anything to do with measurements needs to be done accurately and precisely.
- They’re not responsible or careful with the product. They should treat all the products they handle with care and respect.
- They don’t like following instructions because you ‘know it all.’ We’ve been doing this long enough to know how to do it. And sure, we love ideas on how to do things better but at the end of the day we know how we like things to be done.
- They can’t turn up on time. Nothing annoys us more than a lack of punctuality. If you start at 9:00, be here at 9:00 enthusiastic and ready to go
- They’re an angry wound up kind of person, a ticking time bomb who likes taking their temper out at work. Been there, done that. Not happening again.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $30.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
