Butcher Apprentice

We have an opportunity for a** **butcher apprentice **to join our team in **Mernda**

**All ages are encouraged to apply**

You will be working alongside our highly skilled and qualified tradespeople learning and mastering your trade.

**Responsibilities for this position include**:

- Assist in preparing meat for sale each day
- Daily cutting tasks (using bandsaw, knives, minces etc).
- General food handling
- Serving Customers
- Assure quality of work is performed to a high standard in accordance with expected standards.
- Complete study and on the job components to meet qualification requirements for Certificate III Meat Processing

**To be successful you will need to have the following**:
**Must have**:

- Ability to undertake manual/physical work
- Genuine interest in food
- Punctual, reliable and energetic
- High level of attention to detail
- Good, strong work ethics and time management skills
- Be a confident communicator

**Preferred but not essential**:

- Interest in cooking

Applicants may be required to work some weekends.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
