**About you**

As a Graduate Ecologist at Lodge Environmental, you will be working with an enthusiastic team of environmental consultants, ecologists, and planners to coordinate and deliver on field survey and reporting across our range of interesting projects within the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, and Shoalhaven. You will be passionate about the environment and our community’s interaction within it. You will be working collaboratively with a tightknit team to implement environmental creativity into job designs. We strive to introduce flexibility on our projects to achieve a result which is harmonious with both the local biodiversity and environmental legislation. We welcome dialogue between ecologists and clients to inspire conservation and instil a sense of environmental stewardship. It is within this that we lead our clients towards a better outcome on all accounts.

**Education and qualifications**
- Either hold a recognised degree in Environmental Science OR other relevant tertiary education (Tafe or similar).
- Hold a ‘class c’ drivers license.
- Basic flora and fauna identification in the vegetation communities of NSW.
- To be eligible you must have the right to work in Australia.

**Key tasks**
- Working on project tasks, focused on individual workload and delivery at the request of senior staff
- Prepare proposals
- Undertake GIS mapping, field-based survey and data analysis
- Assist with site and targeted surveys
- Basic understanding of environmental legislation:

- BC Act, EPBC Act, WM Act, EP&A Act, BOS, BAM, etc.
- Prepare components of reports for review, including:

- Ecological Constraints and Opportunities Assessments.
- Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessments Reports.
- Flora and Fauna Assessments.
- Vegetation Management Plans.
- Fauna Management Plans.
- Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports.
- You will also contribute towards the positive work environment both in and outside of the office. You will communicate effectively across both written and verbal discourse.

**Applications**
- Relevant tertiary education.
- Experience within ecological consulting (or if not consulting, then strong ecological survey experience) including years within relevant roles.
- Understanding of the environmental legislative context at the Local, State and Commonwealth level.
