**Our Opportunity**:
**Work location**:Perth based (Redcliffe)

**Roster**:Monday to Friday

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Fortescue WAE Heavy Industry programs whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet.

Based out our new Redcliffe design office and reporting to the Heavy Industry Mechanical and Design engineering manager, we are presently looking for an experienced principal or lead engineer to join our team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate all activities related to project delivery regarding system and component analysis and testing, safe and sustainable manner
- Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements
- Providing technical guidance to the immediate team and represent it in a professional manner technically when necessary
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Develop specifications, standard and process required to meet project specific objectives and to ensure sustainable business growth
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes
- Resolution of technical and design issues with other technical experts
- Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners
- Provide guidance regarding project budget, cash flow and schedule for existing and future projects
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Arranging and coordinating CAE / CFD and other simulation work on component and also system level
- Compliance requirement investigation and ensuring all are addressed
- Providing regular updates to the Engineering Manager including work progress, risks and priorities

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree on MSc level
- Experience with design, manufacturing and product development
- Familiarity with simulation packages related to various disciplines
- Experience in V&V methodologies, HIL and SIL testing
- Solid understanding of systems engineering concepts
- A passion for coaching and mentoring qualified engineers
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
- High commitment to safety
- Experience with SAP work management
- Experience in preparing detailed scope of works
- Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process
- Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to work well in a team
- Always positive, proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
- Results driven, responsible and accountable
- Skilled in problem solving rapidly
