**About the role**

Reporting to a Principal Solicitor, the Paralegal is a member of a team who contributes administrative, research and other support functions to the full range of services provided by the Legal Branch.

You will use your initiative, judgement, and communication skills to deliver high quality paralegal services, aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.

**Duties**
- Conduct legal research, analyse results, investigate options, and provide recommendations; prepare draft reports and briefings within a project or policy framework
- Draft and review legal documents using the existing EPA procedures
- Assist in preparation of briefs of evidence and associated court documents
- Maintain database and monitor court hearings and due dates
- Maintain EPA’s legal processes and procedures

**Skills and experience**
- Demonstrated experience in Paralegal role or similar position
- A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in law is desirable
- Knowledge of law and legal procedures applicable to a regulatory agency
- Demonstrated capability to work in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision
