**Inspire the next generation to develop coding skills and and bring their own robot friend to life**
Who are we? Code Camp is Australia’s leading specialist school holiday and after-school provider. We are looking for fun and energetic casual staff to assist at our after-school classes in Term 2 2024
The lesson is Robotics, in which students learn to command their very own Edison robot to navigate mazes, solve puzzles, react to lights and music, and even compete in a wrestling match with other robots.
**Is this you?**
- Enjoy working with kids (ages 5-12) to build their knowledge and confidence
- Keen to use technology in fun and creative ways
- Able to engage with kids, motivate and manage them within a classroom environment
- Trustworthy, independent, punctual and reliable
- Available during after-school hours approx. **3pm-5pm** on **Thursdays** as a weekly class for Term 2 2024
- Able and willing to travel to **Samford State School** for a 2 hour shift - with an opportunity for more shifts on other days in the surrounding areas.

**Required Skills**:
Whilst we don’t require a specific degree or coding experience, interest in technology is a must and you should have some of the following experience (or similar):

- Experience or enjoy working with primary-aged kids
- Tech savvy, ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Beginner coding knowledge (preferred) - drag and drop/block coding
- Must be confident in speaking in front of a small group of children and delivering provided lesson plans in a fun and engaging way
- Mature outlook, common sense and ability to identify and take action to manage risk and ensure active supervision of children inside the classroom
- Fluent conversational English
- Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain it immediately
- Must own or be willing to obtain a laptop with the ability to connect to a HDMI port

**About the position**:

- Deliver and facilitate our lesson plans to a class in a team each week.
- Set up and pack away equipment (all provided by Code Camp)
- Engaging with the students in a fun and safe way inside and outside the classroom
- Keeping in contact with Head Office if you have any questions or concerns via Slack
- Complete staff training prior to first session (this is completed online at your convenience)

Pay: $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 8 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Shift work

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected Start Date: 15/04/2024
