**About the role**

Serco are focused on providing quality Welfare and Engagement (W&E) services and support that provide detainees with skills, confidence, and opportunities to proactively engage and explore options pertaining to their health and wellbeing. The Program Support Officer (PSO) is an integral member of the W&E team within the Immigration Detention Facility (IDF) in contributing to the overall success of welfare services available to detainees. The PSO will provide administrative support to the W&E department by providing high level operational administration and clerical support through accurate data entry and secretariat duties to meet timeframes and contractual obligations.

The expected hours of the role are based on a 38-hour week. This role sits within the Justice and Immigration organizational unit and reports to the Welfare and Engagement Manager / Welfare and Engagement Coordinator.

**About You**

To be successful, you will be a highly organized and pro-active team player with significant experience working in a dynamic work environment for a large organization. It is essential that you have good Microsoft Office package skills, particularly Word and Excel and accurate Data Entry Skills. You will have proven ability to manage competing priorities and adjust to changing work demands with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships on many levels. You’re a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do and can manage confidential information. To Perform and facilitate all administrative duties including but not limited to; filing, documentation, archiving of logs and registers, maintenance of databases and investigating discrepancies, record keeping, minute & agenda taking, retaining and managing all mail and deliveries, daily staffing allocations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

- Minimum Certificate III in Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Maintain a current Australian Federal Police Clearance
- Maintain a current Working with Children certificate in accordance with the relevant

state or territory child protection legislation (as required)
- Meet the character and training requirements of the Migration Act 1958 in order to be

designated as an Officer under the Act

**Desirable Qualifications**
- Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates

with at least 6 months currency on the certificate
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Associate degree in Business Administration desirable
- Qualification or experience in an associated discipline such as sports and recreation,

social / community work and/or learning

This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes national police check as an essential selection component for this role.
