This position is accountable for working across the Institute to provide seamless service and engagement to all Chisholm Institute students and prospective students; with the aim to improve social connectedness via peer-to-peer experience. The Student Ambassador program similarly aims to provide Chisholm students an opportunity to develop their employability and enhance career readiness, providing experiences and fostering transferable skills for future employment.

The program will provide Student Ambassador’s practical support to make a successful transition from study to employment and/or further education/training or (i.e. they will participate in a 3-Stage Career Development Program; facilitated by a suitable qualified Careers Counsellor).

The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Student Support and Engagement Team and will work with the broader team to provide targeted, practical support that aligns with the individual needs of the various Departments/Business Areas throughout the Institute. Student Ambassadors will need to demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of settings. For example: online (i.e. web chats) and face-to-face (i.e. events & one-to-one support).

The role will be based in Dandenong, with travel and work based around other Chisholm Campuses.

Key Accountabilities include but not limited to:

- Peer-to-peer general assistance to current/prospective students (i.e. the ‘welcoming face’ of Chisholm in commonly accessed/utilised spaces (i.e. Student Hubs, Front Counters and Libraries).
- Proactively promote Chisholm Institute services and functions (i.e. events, support services, Library) to current/prospective students.
- Support current/prospective students to navigate physical and digital spaces to source the information they require (both face-to-face and via Web Chat).
- Provide stakeholder feedback that may contribute to improved efficiencies or customer (student/staff) satisfaction.
- Lead by example, displaying student focused behaviours at all times, taking ownership and seeking.
- solutions to resolve problems within specified level of delegation.
- Promote the Vision and goals of the organisation both internally and externally, with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Provide communications across the institute, including written communications, face-to-face and digital.

**ABOUT YOU**

You will have relevant qualifications, skills, and experience in the following:

- Enrolled (and actively participating) in a Chisholm Institute course (any level/campus/discipline).
- Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service to clients (i.e. retail, hospitality, administration).
- The ability to work collaboratively and adopt a team work approach.
- Ability and willingness to work across different Department/Business Areas throughout the Institute as required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills relevant to the functions of the Student Ambassador role (i.e. coordinating events, responding to online enquiries from students/prospective students).
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, using initiative within the scope of the Student Ambassador position description.
- Proven ability to quickly develop rapport and positive working relationships with colleagues from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds.
- Sound understanding/awareness of Chisholm services, support and functions
