**Curtin AHEAD Program**

The Curtin AHEAD program includes a range of exciting activities and tailored assistance for school students and community members. These activities raise awareness of higher education and help participants to develop the social and academic skills they need to pursue a learning pathway in higher education.

Activities, which take place in schools, in the community or at our Curtin University Bentley campus, include hands-on learning, and a focus on growth mindset, the future of work, and developing the academic skills required to thrive in higher education.

**Your new role**

As Educator, School Engagement you will be involved in designing and delivering educational elements within the AHEAD program, which includes in-class teaching at partner schools. The role is ideal for a teacher, who is able to build rapport in a classroom setting, speaking openly and honestly with students.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Create and oversee program specific materials, resources and assets with the goal of:

- Enhancing student’s awareness of and desire for pursuing tertiary education after completing high school.
- Equipping students with the necessary abilities and skills to facilitate their transition from high school to tertiary studies.
- Deliver the program in class, working collaboratively with teachers at the participating secondary schools.
- Assist in organising and facilitating on-campus activities for students who visit Curtin University as part of our outreach efforts.
- Coordinate student mentors and casual staff for school-based incursions.
- Liaise with participating secondary schools and other departments within Curtin to coordinate and organise high school outreach activities.
