**Role**:
Assistant principals have a primary responsibility for the management of significant areas or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program. In exercising the responsibility, Assistant Principals will have the authority to make all significant decisions relating to the program, budget and staff relating to their area of designated responsibility within the framework of the school's strategic plan, policies and budget.

Assistant Principals will contribute to the overall management of the school through involvement in policy formulation and decision making.

The management of significant school programs or functional areas in schools involve assistant principals in the analysis of the needs of students and the translation of state educational policy and frameworks into appropriate education programs to meet the needs of all students.

Typically Assistant Principals will be responsible for the effective use of the teaching staff and program budget of a defined area of the school's operation and for the oversight and leadership of the educational programs provided utilising these resources.

The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal.

**Responsibilities**:
**Position responsibilities**:

- Oversees the work of staff in relation to Student Learning Growth.
- Supports the Middle School Team (Years 9 & 10).
- Oversees the SSG process for students in years 9 & 10.
- Oversees the provision for Pre-service Teachers
- Oversees the Camps & Excursions Processes
- Facilitates the use of, and analysis of, data at an individual, Domain and whole school level.
- Undertakes the daily operations and personnel recruitment for short-term and long-term staff replacements.
- Oversees the work of the Timetabler.
- Oversees the allocation of teachers to duties such as Yard Duty.
- Liaises with the Director of Assessment & Analytics in relation to exams from Years 9-11 and assessment and reporting.
- Oversees the staff induction process.
- Oversees the work of the MYLNS and TLI Leaders.
- Oversees the NAPLAN process and works with the Director of Assessment & Analytics in relation to the use of NAPLAN data.
- Logistics in relation to location of staff and the oversight of student locker locations.
- Oversight of the College Calendar and meeting schedule.
- Oversight of the Facilities/OHS/ Emergency Management practices at the College
- Chair of Facilities Committee.
- Oversight of in-house Student feedback Surveys
- Oversight of the organisation of, and dissemination of DET surveys - Attitude to Schools Survey, Parent Opinion Surveys and Staff Opinion Surveys.
- The PDP process for Learning Specialists and Leading Teachers within their portfolio.
- Member of Curriculum Committee.
- Member of the College Consultative Committee.
- Attendance, at and contribution to, School Council meetings.
- Policy review and development.
- Other Duties as delegated by the Princ
