**About the role**

The Teacher Agriculture delivers high quality training and assessment to TAFE Gippsland’s Certificate II, III, IV and Diploma students. The successful applicant will have the ability to train students to the high standard required in order for them to be successful in industry The role of the Teacher Agriculture covers a variety of responsibilities and activities within the sector, including:

- Practical skills training in simulated workplace environments (such as Lardner Park);
- Engaging with students and their employers in the workplace;
- Supporting students and employers with their workforce and career development needs;
- Showcasing careers and associated education pathways to community, schools and industry;
- Classroom based teaching; and
- Teaching via video conferencing.

**About you**

You are a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated agricultural industry professional with experience across a wide variety of agricultural practices such as grazing management, pasture-based agronomy, animal health, livestock husbandry and feeding, milking operations and farm business management. You are confident and proactive, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to establish and build relationships with students and industry. You have high level IT skills, a thorough knowledge of training packages and an understanding of compliance and quality requirements. You enjoy working as part of a team and have previous experience in training, mentoring, and supporting trainees/apprentices in the workplace.

Qualifications and experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Agriculture or related studies
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the agricultural industry (farming or service provider)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)

Mandatory requirements
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (no older than 12 months old)
- A valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
