**Job Description**:
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager for a full-time position based at our Head Office in Clayton.

The role will oversee HSE policies, ensure the well-being of our employees and the environment and, play a pivotal role in promoting a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.

The role has an opportunity for occasional local, domestic and international travel.

**Position responsibilities will include**:

- Overseeing the implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance across all levels of the organization meeting Self-Insurance Workers’ Compensation and **ISO45001** requirements.
- Conducting regular HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on HSE matters to senior management, supervisors, and employees, fostering a proactive and safety-conscious culture.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to integrate HSE practices into operational processes and drive a continuous improvement mindset.
- Leading incident investigations to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and develop preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
- Coordinating and delivering HSE training programs, workshops, and toolbox talks to enhance employees' understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
- Maintaining accurate HSE records, including incident reports, risk assessments, training records, and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Advising on emerging HSE trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, and proactively implement relevant updates into the company's HSE management system.
- Liaising with external regulatory bodies, including Work Safe Victoria, to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- In-depth knowledge of certification to standards (**ISO45001**), legislative requirements, and best practices related to occupational health, safety, and environmental management. (Essentiasl)
- Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and programs, preferably in a self-insured environment.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and corrective action implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to drive a positive safety culture and foster a proactive approach to HSE.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions.
- Qualifications in HSE will be well regarded.
