The Laboratory Asset Officer is a permanent full-time position within the high performing Core Services team and plays an integral role in supporting the needs of a growing and evolving research workforce. Core Services places significant time on professional development and learning of their staff throughout the institute.
**As our Laboratory Asset Officer your purpose will be to**:
- Ensure all laboratory and animal facility, building equipment, fixtures and fittings are in proper working order by implementing preventative maintenance where requires or by organising repair.
- Be responsible for maintaining an up to data register of CCI assets, warranties, service contracts and spare parts.
- Support the purchase, placement and maintenance of all animal/laboratory equipment, fixtures and fittings in close consultation with the technical services coordinator and key research stakeholders where required.
- Provide timely supply of consumables and services to the animal and general laboratory.
- Perform audits, maintenance and light repairs of equipment.
- Facilitate any technician visits for equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain CCI’s asset management platform MEX.
- Work closely with the Technical Services Coordinator to innovate new processes to facilitate sustainable lab and equipment processes
**To succeed you will have**
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline or relevant experience (Science, Engineering or Electrician Trade).
- Inventory management experience
- Collaborative and flexible attitude to work.
- A curious attitude and ability to initiate.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Knowledge of PC2 behavioural requirements and WHS would be highly regarded
