Our Spotswood plant is looking for an Operator to join our Batch & Furnace team. This opportunity will commence in the batch house, gaining proficiency before progressing to furnace operations as to ensure the production of high-quality glass containers.

You will commence on day shift, working an average of 35 hrs pw over 7 days, and be prepared to be placed on shift once fully competent - Day, 6.45am to 3pm, Arvo, 2.45pm to 11pm and Night 10.45pm to 7am.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, key responsibilities include, but not be limited to:

- Adhere to all Work, Health & Environment policies, and procedures.
- Operate the furnace (including gas rig, change over dampers, combustion air fans, etc) automatically manually during power failures.
- Monitor and adjust furnace parameters as necessary to achieve good quality glass.
- Perform basic glass quality testing such as seed and blister counts, colour check, etc.
- Conduct batch house and furnace routine inspections and checks.
- Liaise with maintenance team for PMs and breakdowns.
- Attend to batch house and furnace alarms.
- Attend breakdowns throughout the batch and furnace department.
- Elevate raw material into silo. Direct truck delivery drivers on where to unload.
- Mobile plant operation - front end loader, counterbalance forklift, hoist.
- Maintain good level of housekeeping.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Previous experience working in batch or furnace operations would be beneficial, alternatively, prior process operator experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical trade certificate an advantage or a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Previous experience operating a front-end loader, counterbalance forklift and hoist.
- LF forklift licence.
- Strong communication, commitment to safety & quality, and be physically fit and healthy.
