Principal Process Specialist

**The Opportunity**

Come and discover the opportunity to join our operations team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as a Principal Process Specialist. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

**What Will You Do?**

Providing leadership, management and support to the Process Technologist team you'll:

- monitor the performance of the manufacturing units to meet the operating budgets, including an ongoing gap analysis of the key operational issues and areas for process improvement
- improve the technical capability of the manufacturing units through engineered process controls to improve reliability, product quality, conversion cost efficiency and energy efficiencies
- provide the strategic direction in consultation and clarify the vison for the vison and purpose for the team.

Along with your passion and commitment to safety and your technical expertise, you will bring a highly consultative nature to the role. You will also bring:

- relevant tertiary degree in science or engineering
- a technical acumen with the ability to translate technical information into value-add business outcomes
- well developed leadership and coaching and mentoring skills
- the ability to present and communicate your technical results and participate in review and constructive debate with your peers
- a skill in translating the technical into everyday language for the wider teams
