**Job Description**:
**Day to day you will**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the AFR's editorial objectives and business goals.
- Collaborate with the newsroom editors to turn breaking news and feature stories into engaging social media content.
- Work closely with the Head of Audience Development to develop and implement audience acquisition strategies that drive engagement and subscriptions.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging social media platforms and trends to identify new opportunities for the AFR.

**Qualifications**:

- A strong understanding of social media, including trends and platforms and the ability to reach a target audience.
- Advanced digital production skills including copy editing, headline writing and story packaging. Image, video and audio editing skills will be an advantage, as will graphic design skills.
- A strong understanding of social media, including trends and platforms and the ability to reach a target audience.
- Creative flair to make content stand out in a competitive environment.
- An understanding of SEO best practices.
- Refined editorial judgment with an ability to identify digital trends and spot a trending news story.
- Experience as a reporter/editor/producer would be an advantage, as would experience training staff in social media protocols and digital best practice.
